French green clay is valued for its strong absorbing properties. It does a wonderful job at clearing out and minimizing pores and is best suited for those with oily or acne-prone skin. Neroli essential oil is amazing at balancing out sebum production. It also has healing and inflammation reducing properties which will help to calm down skin that is tired of acne. Oh, and it smells fantastic! You will look great AND smell great. First time I tried it I liked it so much that I ended up adding it to all my homemade skin care products.
Ingredients:
30 g Green French clay
30 g distilled or mineral water
6-8 drops of Neroli essential oil
0.5 g preservative (optional: this recipe is easy to make so you can just mix up a small amount of it each time you want to use this mask. However, if you would like to make a bigger batch and store it or give it to someone else you MUST use preservative )
The recipe itself is very easy. There is no heating up involved like with most skin care recipes.
1. Mix your water and preservative (if using one) in a bowl.
2. Add clay and mix well. Feel free to add more water or clay to achieve the desired consistency.
3. Once mixed well add your essential oil and mix some more.
4. Store in an airtight container.
Easy isn’t it? The beauty of making face masks yourself is that you can modify it. You can mix in additional ingredients, use different essential oils, etc.
